Working with the Evanston Animal Shelter has been one of the most meaningful and joyful experiences of my life.

The volunteers at the Shelter take care of each animal as if it were their own, providing medical care for cases many shelters would turn away and giving oodles of love to each animal that comes through the door.  

Just as important is how the Shelter cares for community members, providing a safe place for people to bring their furry family members when they can't take care of them anymore, or for people to bring abandoned animals when they want to make sure they are well cared for. We also provide pet food for anyone who needs it. All of these have been more important than ever during COVID. 

Most importantly, we bring joy to families who come to the Shelter to adopt a new companion. Like my family, who adopted Boomer from EAS 7 years ago and is grateful to EAS every day for bringing him into our lives.
